Thyroid Profile | Pathology

$220.00

The Thyroid Profile provides a comprehensive analysis of an individual’s thyroid hormone metabolism — a process which is crucial to the body’s endocrine (hormone) system. This test offers a thorough insight into thyroid functioning, efficiency and health.

Description

DESCRIPTION

This profile will assess thyroid hormone metabolism by measuring:

  • Central regulation and activity
  • Production and secretion
  • Peripheral conversion
  • Autoimmunity

The thyroid has one very important job — it produces hormones. These hormones allow the body to function properly by regulating the energy levels, growth and reproduction of all cells. Vital organs such as the brain, heart, lungs, liver and skin therefore depend on the thyroid to stay active and functioning.

Hormones produced by the thyroid are known for their critical roles in basal metabolic rate, development and growth. When production is abnormal or inefficient the entire body can suffer. The Thyroid Profile can recognise thyroid function and help to prevent the adverse health conditions that can come from impaired thyroid function.
