This profile can detect risk factors for Cardiovascular Disease (CVD). As the leading cause of death worldwide, CVD is a prevalent health risk. This test serves as a cardiovascular risk assessment which can detect a range of potential risk factors and markers of heart abnormalities.
This test will measure CVD biomarkers such as lipoprotein, apolipoproteins A & B, homocysteine, fibrinogen and C-reactive protein (CRP).
The conventional risk factors for CVD include hypertension, smoking, diabetes, dyslipidemia and low HDL cholesterol. However, many instances of CVD still occur in individuals without any risk factors. The Cardiovascular Profile can limit risk by identifying the signs of potential moderate and baseline risks, which may require further risk reduction strategies.

You will receive a package which will include all instructions, pathology form, details of sample collection locations.
Once your samples are received by the lab they will be assessed. The turnaround time for results is 7 – 10 business days but please be aware laboratory times may vary and you may experience a delay in results.
Once your confidential results have been sent to the medical team for review, they will call you to discuss your results and appropriate treatment options moving forward.
Finally, a copy of your results will be sent through to you for your reference.
