THE POWER OF PATHOLOGY

Pathology goes beyond a standard blood test and can provide a valuable insight into your inner health and assess how well the body is functioning.

We offer ten specialised pathology assessments that are designed to help you understand your hormones and other important health indicators in the body. Upon inspection and review, our Medical Team discusses results with you to help you understand the body’s balances and potential imbalances. Our medical professionals also use this valuable information to offer personalised recommendations and solutions.

Pathology spans across many areas and can assess hormones and the systems responsible for producing these hormones. Our ten assessments are further refined in their testing to consider male and female specific hormones and factors of health.

BEYOND THE BLOOD TEST

On a basic level, a pathology test requires a sample of a type of bodily tissue.

Information from these tests are then interpreted by medical professionals to aid in diagnosis or treatment of diseases and other health conditions. Where a blood, saliva or similar test gives the straight facts about things like hormone count, pathology refers to the clinical knowledge applied by medical professionals to understand the body and how it is functioning. This testing can mark the initial stage of addressing and resolving a health condition, or can simply serve as an insight into the body’s health and functioning.

While hormones are essential to reproduction, they also serve important purposes for systems and processes around the entire body. The endocrine system is responsible for producing and secreting these hormones, and can become compromised from a range of lifestyle and biological factors.

Each pathology test focuses on measuring a different hormone, system or aspect of health. These measures can be taken from a variety of samples, however common pathology will often require a saliva, urine, blood or SST serum test.

OUR PATHOLOGY

We offer ten pathology tests to assess everything from stress levels to hormonal balance. From order to review, the following stages ensure the confidentiality, convenience and accuracy of your pathology testing.

Adrenocortex Stress Profile

The Adrenocortex assessment can identify markers of stress response and reveal adrenal imbalances. This hormone profile requires a non-invasive saliva test to produce a reliable measure of the stresses put on the adrenal glands. This test can highlight common cases of adrenal fatigue, and therefore serves as a critical tool for detecting related conditions like anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue, obesity and dysglycemia.

This pathology is also offered in conjunction with the male or female hormone profile. Together, these tests offer a comprehensive insight into the body’s stress levels and its consequential effects on the endocrine system.

Thyroid Profile

The Thyroid Profile provides a comprehensive analysis of an individual’s thyroid hormone metabolism. The thyroid has one very important job — it produces hormones. These hormones allow the body to function properly by regulating the energy levels, growth and reproduction of all cells. Vital organs such as the brain, heart, lungs, liver and skin therefore depend on the thyroid to stay active and functioning.

Helpful if you experience:

  • Anxiety, depression or insomnia
  • Fatigue and poor memory
  • Headaches or migraines
  • Loss of libido

Growth Hormone Profile

This assessment identifies levels of growth hormone (GH) in the body. Crucial in stimulating almost every tissue in the body, growth hormone can contribute to poor health when deficient.

Helpful if you experience:

  • Chronic bone, muscle or joint pain
  • Depression or mood disorders
  • Diabetes
  • Chronic fatigue

IGF & IGF-BP3 Hormone Assessment

IGF1 and IGF-BP3 levels can influence a range of bodily functions and cellular repair processes. IGF-BP3 is the main carrier of IGF1, and levels can also signify the body’s production of human growth hormone (HGH).

Helpful if you experience:

  • Chronic fatigue
  • Depression
  • Sexual dysfunction
  • Loss of muscle tone
