Using a simple microsample method, this test assesses a range of liver enzymes (proteins) in the blood for a comprehensive snapshot of liver function.
The liver exists to filter all blood in the body and breakdown any harmful substances and toxins (e.g. alcohol). This test measures the liver enzymes responsible for this function, and can reflect general liver health. An unhealthy liver can leave toxins uncontrolled in the body, and may lead to a host of negative health conditions.
The Liver Function test can not only record liver function status, but can monitor the progression of a treatment or test for side effects of certain medications.
