INTRODUCING: PEPTIDE BIOREGULATORS

IGF & IGF-BP3 Hormone Assessment | Pathology

$230.00

IGF1 and IGF-BP3 levels can influence a range of bodily functions and cellular repair processes. IGF-BP3 is the main carrier of IGF1, and levels can also signify the body’s production of human growth hormone (HGH). This assessment requires a simple SST serum test, and can highlight any imbalances or anomalies in the body’s IGF1 and IGF-BP3 levels.

Description

DESCRIPTION

This assessment will measure the levels of insulin-like growth factor (IGF1) in the body. This test will also consider levels of IGF-BP3, which is an insulin-like growth factor that binds three proteins.

IGF1 is naturally produced in the body and plays an important role in cell repair in the muscles, brain and heart. It contains seventy amino acid polypeptides that are produced by the liver and endocrine system.

This hormone has a similar structure to insulin, and holds many important anabolic roles in the body from childhood through to adulthood. It has growth-promoting effects on almost every cell in the body, including skeletal muscle, cartilage, bone, liver, nerves and lungs. In addition to these insulin-like properties, IGF1 can also regulate cell growth and development to support DNA synthesis.

IGF-BP3 is the main carrier of IGF1 and accounts for 80 per cent of all IGF binding, making it the body’s most abundant protein. Testing for this molecule can indicate whether the body is producing a normal amount of human growth hormone (HGH).

TEST TYPE: SST Serum Test
