This test can detect gluten intolerance by measuring genes that control the immune system’s gluten reaction. Several types of human leukocyte antigens (HLA) are measured in this pathology to suggest gluten sensitivity.
Gluten insensitivity is very common, and is characterised by adverse reactions to the gluten protein found in wheat, rye and barley.
HLA testing is best for those who are genetically predisposed to developing gluten sensitivity, or experience symptoms of sensitivity such as bloating, gastrointestinal discomfort, fatigue, nausea or headaches.

You will receive a package which will include all instructions, pathology form, details of sample collection locations.
Step 2: Pathology assessment
Once your samples are received by the lab they will be assessed. The turn around time for results is 7 – 10 business days but please be aware laboratory times may vary and you may experience a delay in results.
Step 3: Medical Team review results
Once your confidential results have been sent to the medical team for review, they will call you to discuss your results and appropriate treatment options moving forward.
Step 4: Results sent to the patient
Finally, a copy of your results will be sent through to you for your reference.
