This pathology tests amino acids, otherwise known as the ‘building blocks’ of proteins. Amino acids are found in every tissue of the body, and play a major role in many chemical processes for both physical and mental function.
Testing amino acids can highlight potential issues with absorption by measuring imbalances in the blood. As an essential component of many chemical processes, amino acids transport nutrients around the body to help prevent illness and promote optimal functioning.
Amino acid deficiency can not only decrease the body’s functionality and overall health, but is linked to decreased immunity, digestive problems, depression, infertility and a lowered mental alertness.
TEST TYPE: Blood spot
